China Hopes Israel, Palestine Will Show Restraint
China hopes that both Israel and Palestine will avoid actions which could worsen the situation, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan in Beijing Wednesday.

Israeli helicopter launched a missile attack on Gaza City on Tuesday, killing at least two Palestinians and injuring seven others, including a senior Hamas member.

Kong said China expressed its serious concern about the incident, given that such actions will not be helpful to regional peace and stability.

He said China hopes the two sides will maintain the good momentum that has emerged in the Mideast peace process.
