US Businessman Values China's Investment Environment
China is a place worth investing in, Amway Corporation Board Chairman Steve Van Andel said in Guangzhou Thursday.

Steve Van Andel, also Chairman of the International Policy Committee of the US Chamber of Commerce, was here to attend the signing ceremony of Amway's additional US$120 million investment in China.

The Chinese government's active and responsible attitude in the fight against SARS was quite impressive, he said, noting that the new investment is an indication of Amway's confidence in the Chinese market.

This latest investment accounts for about half of Amway's total investment in China since 1992.

US-China economic cooperation enjoys huge potential, and the two economies are complementary, he said, adding that the development of bilateral trade cooperation is of great importance to the global economy.

With improving investment environment in China, the US Chamber of Commerce will promote cooperation between enterprises of the two countries, especially between small- and medium-sized companies, he said.
