110 Beijing University Students Awarded Sony Scholarship
One hundred and ten outstanding students from 11 of Beijing's top universities and colleges were awarded the 440,000 yuan (about US$55,000) Sony scholarship on Thursday.

The recipients are all outstanding academic achievers, with excellent overall qualities and an interest in extra-curricular social activities. Some of them have published high-level academic papers.

Their universities include Peking University, Tsinghua University, People's University of China, Beijing University of Science and Technology, and Beijing University of Science and Engineering.

Founded by Japan's electronics giant Sony Corp. in 1994, the Sony scholarship has been awarded to nearly one thousand excellent college students in China.
