State Councilor Meets Sudanese Assembly Speaker
China hopes to further cooperation with Sudan, said State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan in Beijing Tuesday.

Tang spoke during a meeting with Sudanese National Assembly Speaker Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir.

Tang spoke highly of the sound bilateral relations which saw steady growth after the two countries established diplomatic ties.

The friendly cooperation between the two countries had seen further expansion, said Tang, adding that cooperation in the oil industry could be deemed an example of South-South cooperation.

Tang extended China's gratitude for Sudan supporting China in such issues as Taiwan and human rights.

Tang also expressed condolence and sympathy to the victims of a plane crash that occurred in Sudan Tuesday.

Al-Tahir valued the relations between Sudan and China, saying the Sudanese parliament and China's National People's Congress (NPC) had maintained good cooperation.

The two countries shared identical positions on many major international issues and Sudan would strive for better cooperation with China in bilateral and multilateral areas, Al-Tahir said.

Al-Tahir reiterated that Sudan would adhere to the one-China policy and support China's stance on the Taiwan issue.
