Chinese Defense Minister Meets Pakistani Guests
Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan met in Beijing Tuesday with Muhammad Yusaf Khan, vice chief of the Pakistani Army Staff.

Cao, who is also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, said China and Pakistan were friendly neighbors and the friendship between the two countries had withstood the test of time no matter what happened in the international and domestic situation of the two countries.

China always regarded Pakistan as a reliable friend, he said, adding that military relationship between the two sides was an important component of the bilateral ties.

Cao also briefed the guests on army modernization in China.

Yusaf said the friendly cooperation between the two countries was an important factor to regional peace and stability, and the two sides could make joint efforts to expand the areas of cooperation for better exchanges.
