Turkey Insists on 'One China' Policy

Turkey insists on "One China" policy and the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government for the whole Chinese people, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Ankara Monday.

In a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Song Aiguo, Erdogan said Turkey and China belong to important countries on both ends of Asia and Turkey attaches great importance to the development of the mutual ties.

Turkey is closely following China's development with high speed, Erdogan said, expressing his hope to further develop Turkey's ties with China in various levels.

Turkey and China should develop their existing friendly relations, thus bringing benefit to the people of the two countries, which is also favorable to the regional peace and stability, the prime minister added.
