The Chinese government strongly condemns the terror blast in Madrid, Spain, and vowed to further anti-terror cooperation with the EU and the international community, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said in Beijing Tuesday.  

China is against terrorism in any forms, Li said during meeting with Javier Solana, secretary general of the Council of the European Union (EU) who was in Beijing on a two-day official visit as guest of Li.

Solana, also the representative for the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, said the EU and China share a solid and sound relationship and the top leaders will exchange visits this year.

The European Union cherishes ties with China and will enhance strategic cooperation with China in bilateral and multilateral areas, Solana said.

The EU will stick to the one-China policy and hopes the situation over the Taiwan Strait would maintain stable, said Solana.

China is willing to strengthen mutual understanding, and expand cooperation in all sectors, Li said.

China supports the integration cause of the European Union and is willing to see the European Union play an active role in international affairs, the Chinese minister said.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concerns such as anti-proliferation.
