Visiting Micronesian President Joseph J. Urusemal was met by Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng in Shanghai Saturday.

Han said Shanghai had maintained a double-digit growth rate for the past 12 years and he hoped Shanghai and Micronesia could have more exchange and cooperation in trade and economic affairs.

Urusemal, who arrived on Friday for a seven-day China visit at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, said he admired Shanghai's economic miracle and that he hoped his current visit to China would strengthen bilateral relations.

The Micronesian president also visited the Pudong New District and a breeding farm in the suburb of Shanghai.
