Cambodia Always Sticks to One-China Policy: Deputy PM

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng reiterated on Monday that the Kingdom of Cambodia will firmly and consistently adhere to the one-China policy.

Sar Kheng made the remarks when he held talks with visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi in Phnom Penh on Monday morning.

"Cambodia will support China's cause of reunification and oppose any attempt to split China," said Sar Kheng.

Wu highly commended the stance of the Cambodian government.

Both leaders spoke highly of Sino-Cambodian relations. Wu said that China and Cambodia are close neighbors with deep-set traditional friendship.

"We are not only good neighbors, good friends, but also good partners," Wu added. She said the friendship between the two countries has already brought great material benefit to the two countries and peoples in recent years.

Sar Kheng thanked the Chinese government for its sincere and constant support and aid to his country, saying the aid has played important role in promoting Cambodia's economic and social development.

Wu Yi arrived Cambodia on Friday for a five-day official visit to Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng.
