Kim Yong-nam Meets with China's FM

Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Supreme People's Assembly, met with Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Pyongyang Wednesday. 

Kim briefed Li on the DPRK's domestic situation and thanked China's great and selfless help to the DPRK.

 

Kim said that strengthening the DPRK-China friendship is in the interests of the two countries and also helpful to peace in Asia and the world as a whole.

 

On Wednesday, Kim Jong-il, general secretary of the Worker's Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defense Commission of the DPRK, also met with Li. 

 

Li began his official visit to the DPRK on Tuesday and will conclude the visit on Thursday. He also held talks with his DPRK counterpart Paek Nam-sun on Tuesday.
