42 Bus Passengers Confirmed Dead in Indonesian Landslide

The Sunday's landslide that hit a passenger bus in the Indonesian province of West Sumatra has killed 42 people aboard, Metro TV reported Monday.

The bus was on the way from Medan, capital of North Sumatra Province, to the town of Lubuk Sikaping in West Sumatra but the landslide, triggered by heavy rains, completely buried it under soil, stones and trees some 30 km from its destination.

Using bulldozers and hoes, the rescue team with the help of villagers found 12 survivors, all are being treated at the nearest hospital.
