Singapore Simplifies Chinese Travelers Visa Procedure

Singapore is simplifying visa procedures for Chinese travelers in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Travelers in these cities can apply for tourism visas via three authorized travel agencies, paying 600 yuan (US$75) as a visa application fee, a 5,000 to 10,000 yuan (US$625 to US$1,250) deposit to guarantee their return, an employer's certificate, and an asset certificate showing at least 10,000 yuan (US$1,250).

Visas could be granted within five days, said an official with China Youth Travel Service Company.

Singapore was one of the first nations to be approved as a destination for Chinese travelers. China has so far become an important tourist source nation for Singapore.
