Main Flood Season Concludes

From Liaoning Meteorological Observatory we learn that Liaoning's main flood season in 2004 has got concluded.

This year Liaoning Province's main flood season started from July 18th and lasted 31 days. Compared with previous years, this year's flood season came a bit earlier and ended a bit later, 10 days more than previous years.

In this main flood season, local rainstorm was commonly seen; the largest rainfall volume in one day was 166 millimeters in Dawa County. Till August 16th, the average rainfall was 184.6 millimeters, almost the same as pervious years. No flood disaster occurred in Liaoning province.

It is predicted till the end of August, most regions in Liaoning will have less than 30 to 40 percent rainfall volume; the moisture of the land will be decreased. But under a certain weather condition, strong rainfall will still be possibly seen.
