Liu Qi: Beijing Paralympics Will Be Equally Wonderful

BOCOG held its 51st Executive Board Session to discuss the preparatory work for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games on the afternoon of March 2.

 

Addressing the attendees, BOCOG President Liu Qi reiterated that the 2008 Paralympic Games should be equally fantastic as the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and that the Paralympics should also be a high-level Games with distinguishing characteristics.

 

Liu Qi, who is also the Party secretary of Beijing municipality, said that the Beijing 2008 Paralympics and the Beijing 2008 Olympics are mutually complementary and beneficial. Liu pointed out that BOCOG should take the responsibility to hold two successful Games.

 

Present at the meeting were: State Councilor and BOCOG First Vice-President, Chen Zhili, Director of the General Administration of Sports and BOCOG Executive President, Liu Peng, and President of China Disabled Person' Federation and BOCOG Executive President, Deng Pufang.
