Hold Part of Olympics in Your Hands
Adjust font size:

Now you can hold "part" of the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics in your hands, as memorial badges will be made from the steel left over from the construction of the "Bird's Nest", the main stadium of the grand event.

The news was released during the awarding ceremony of the design contest for the badges, held on August 8th in Beijing, Xinhua News reports.

Winner designs in four categories were selected from 1,000 some applicants according to the opinions of 13 professional judges and online votes across the world. Two lucky ones out of these will be made from the "Olympic steel."

The final choices will be announced soon.
