Modern "beetles" decorated with a traditional graphic design themed around the 2008 Olympics, were put on display at Beijing's busy downtown shopping area of Wangfujing, impressing many passers-by.

The Volkswagen beetle cars were painted with elements like the emblem of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the lucky cloud design---an image that is used for the torch design for the Games. It also features Chinese dragons, paper-cuttings and Beijing Opera.

These bold graphics give the cars a strong Chinese touch while highlighting the spirit of the Olympics.
