The online community can now vote for this year's top 10 news stories of the Beijing Games as the Games' official website launched a new campaign Thursday.

From November 22 to December 21, netizens can register with www.beijing2008.cn and choose from a shortlist of 20 stories, which are available in Chinese, English and French.

The results of the vote will be unveiled at the end of this year.

The website also staged a campaign to select the "10 Most Frequently Used Words Related to the Beijing Olympics in 2007" and a campaign to seek the "Top 10 Wishes” for the Games.

The selection and appraisal methods are the same for all of the campaigns.

The site will randomly draw 20 people's names daily among those who participated in the vote and send them souvenirs as a token of thanks.

The candidate stories include: 700,000 people register as volunteers; jade-inlaid medals for the Beijing Olympics embody Chinese characteristics; as the second-phase of sales begin, ticket sales for the Beijing Olympics attain unprecedented heights; and 2007 "Good Luck Beijing" sport events put Olympic preparations to the test.
