Hong Kong lantern displays to celebrate Olympic spirit
Adjust font size:

Two lantern displays featuring the Beijing Olympic Games are lighting up the Cultural Center and West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade Friday to celebrate Olympic spirit and Chinese lunar New Year.

The displays will run until March 9 at the Cultural Center and to Feb. 24 at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade respectively.

At the Cultural Center, a giant red arch has been set up, symbolizing good luck and welcoming everyone to join the Games. Lanterns of the Beijing Olympic mascots demonstrate the theme "One world, one dream", while the display in the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade features the mascots competing in different sports.
