Migrant Kids Get Higher Intellectual Levels: Survey

Chinese researchers have found that the children of the migrant population in Beijing have higher intellectual levels than ordinary city kids.

Experts say the parents of these children are usually ambitious and have higher than average intelligence, so their children are smarter than expected, reported Wednesday's CRI online.

However, as many of these children have poor ability to adapt to the urban environment and poor study habits, they don't have outstanding performance at school.

The survey also indicates that migrant children are psychologically healthier than native Beijing children.
