China has developed its own DNA test reagent in a bid to cut the cost of hospital DNA testing.

A reagent is a chemical substance used to create a reaction in combination with other substances and China is still highly dependant on imported reagents for DNA testing.

The People's Daily reports that Chinese scientists have designed a reagent more suitable for testing the gene of Chinese.

At present, the reagent has been tried in dozens of organizations through China and proved to be effective.
