Solar Cars on Show in Shanghai
Three solar cars co-produced by University of Missouri-Rolla, Principia College and Tsinghua University are being put on show in Shanghai Science Museum.

Made as light as possible, the solar cars are all machined from solar cells and have an extremely small weight.

But do not you think that a solar car can be only used in sunny days, it works the same well in raining days. The car is equipped with solar cells, as long as it can get enough sunshine, the energy saved in the car can support its operation in raining days.

According to an expert in Shanghai Jiaotong University, solar car can not enter common people's life yet, one is because its price is too high, and another reason is that its functions still can not meet practical purposes.

All the three solar cars had ever been put to international races with a maximum speed of 120 km/hour (75 mi/hour).
