New Computer Software Speeds Shipping Checks
The Entry-Exit Administration of the Chinese Public Security Ministry on Tuesday launched new computer software capable of streamlining checks on ships arriving in and leaving China.

The software, called the online shipping check and management system, will help shipping agents submit electronic applications to the relevant authority and greatly speed up the application process.

The ministry has introduced the software, developed by the Xiamen port authorities in southeast China's Fujian Province, to such major coastal cities as Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shantou,Zhuhai, Shenzhen and Haikou.

During a trial, the software helped reduce each entry-exit application by 20 minutes and improve work efficiency.
