China-made Anti-Virus Software into Global Market
Rising, a brand of anti-virus software of China's own intellectual property, has been lately exported to Japan. This is the first time that China-made anti-virus software enters international market in large scale, which indicates that China's software export has transformed from simply accepting entrusted processing from exporting finished product.

The intelligence and wisdom of Chinese people has long been recognized by the world, especially in the field of software development. However, for a long time China's software enterprises could only accept entrusted processing and do "physical work" for their foreign producers.

While in recent years the nation's software industry developed rapidly backed by state encouraging policy and government support for licensed software. While the domestic made anti-virus software has been leading the field of general software through its large progress achieved regarding both technological level and market strategies. In competition with American and European software makers, Chinese companies remained unbeaten and further grasped nearly 90 percent domestic market shares.

Rising's exports to Japan, a market of fierce competition, shows that China's unique technology and leading position in developing virus killers have been recognized internationally. As reported, Rising's technology of anti not-yet-known virus has been registered as patent in Japan.

During the first half year China's software export worth reached US$700 million, related official said, and the state is aiming at exporting US$5 billion by 2005. Led by Rising, more and more domestic software companies will join in international competition with their own brand names.
