The statistics show that science papers published within China amounted to 203,229, increasing by 12.4 percent over the year 2000.

In 2001, the number of papers being cited totaled 18,358, increasing by 16.7 percent over 2000, while the incidence of citation increased by 23.8 percent to 38,827, according to the statistics.
