Public bidding is invited for research projects to aid government decision-making in south China's Guangdong Province, according to sources with the provincial government.
A total of 11 projects are open to the public, sources said, adding that the government issued the invitation last week.
It is the first time the provincial government has invited public bidding for major research projects. The projects will be financed by the government.
Each project will receive at least 100,000 yuan (US$12,000) of financial support from the provincial financial bureau. The 11 projects cover the fields of industrialization, non-state economy, urbanization, water resources protection, cross-province cooperation and higher education.
Differing from those which are set only for academic purposes, the fruits of these major projects will help the government's decision-making process, said Chen Jian, secretary-general of the Guangdong provincial government.
Organizations and individuals who are interested in bidding for the projects may download materials from the website of http://gdyjzx.gov.cn.
