A fair in this capital of Guangdong Province, south China, for returned students from overseas had drawn more than 3,000 delegates with a lot of fruitful exchanges reported.
The three-day fair, which ended on Monday, is the fifth of its kind held in China to encourage overseas Chinese students to bring back their technology projects and to land suitable domestic projects.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), one of the sponsors in 2002, organized a total of 42 high-tech institutions with 15 promising projects to attend the event.
Twenty-two overseas student associations from the United States, Canada, Europe, other Asia nations and Australia invited 1,354 students to join the fair.
Projects exchanged at the fair cover biomedicine, information technology (IT), advanced manufacturing technology, new materials, environmental protection and new energy.
Forums were also held on the sustainable development of technology, resources and environment materials and starting business and making investment in China.
Meanwhile, a special fair for projects involving returned students in developing the country's western regions was also launched.
