Shanghai Sets up State Technology Transfer Center
China State Technology Transfer Center has been set up in Shanghai, China's major economic powerhouse, to provide domestic enterprises with the latest technologies as well as information and talents.

The main task of the center is to undertake the important scientific and technological development projects entrusted by various provinces and cities around the country, and to provide enterprises both at home and abroad with scientific research achievements and professional talents, said a source with the center.

The center will also provide enterprises with services concerning technological renovation, project management, fund raising and application for international patents, while organizing international technological exchanges and assessment on introduction of advanced foreign technologies.

The center, set up within the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is composed of a large number of important research organs including the Shanghai Institute of Silicate, the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, the Shanghai Observatory, and the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry.
