14 Chinese State Science Parks Pass Quality Test

Fourteen state science parks established in major Chinese universities have passed a recent quality examination by the Ministry of Science and Technology

The science parks in Beijing Institute of Technology, Shanghai University and Jilin University were among the 14 that passed muster with the Ministry.

The establishment of state-level science parks in major universities is part of a long-term cooperation plan between China's Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education.

Policy-makers hope the academic expertise in China's institutions of higher learning can be better harnessed to assist the national drive to galvanize economic growth with scientific achievement.

To date, the 44 science parks established around the nation since 1999 have attracted more than US$3 billion worth of investment.
