Research of SINOSAT-II Proceeding Smoothly

The research and manufacture of SINOSAT-II is drawing to a close.

With 24 Ku-band transponders on board, SINOSAT-II will be the first spacecraft based on the new domestic high power satellite platform, known as DFH-IV.

Being the major satellite platform of the new generation, DFH-IV is of high power, high quality and high reliability.

To ensure time schedule and performance requirements, the key components of the SINOSAT-II payload will be imported from abroad.

Scheduled to be launched in 2005, the lifetime of SINOSAT-II will be 15 years.

The new satellite will serve TV broadcasting, Direct PC and broadband multimedia systems in China and neighboring regions.
