Civet Cats Believed to Be Major SARS Virus Carriers

Guangdong banned the breeding and sale of civet cats on Jan. 5 to prevent possible spread of the SARS disease. The provincial government made the decision shortly after scientists confirmed that civet cats are major SARS virus carriers.
