Chinese and Pakistani Companies Sign CDMA Network Construction Agreement

The contract signing ceremony of a CDMA project was held Tuesday in Islamabad between Pakistani Telecom and China Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.

According to the contract, the Pakistani Telecom chooses Huawei as its partner who will be entirely responsible for the construction of the CDMA WLL network, which will cover the whole of Pakistan. Once the project is finished CDMA WLL will cover most of the rural and urban areas in Pakistan and provide high quality vocal and data services as well as paid phone, wireless public phone and short message service as well. It will solve the trouble that it's very hard to make a phone call in the rural areas of Pakistan

 

Present at the signing ceremony are Song Deheng -- charge d'affaires ad interim at Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and Mr. Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari -- Pakistan Information Technology and Telecommunication Minister.
