Beijing Considers Ticket Hike for World Heritage Sites

A government hearing will be held on the ticket hike of the world culture heritage sites in Beijing next Tuesday.

Ten citizens will be invited to be present at the hearing.

So far six sites in the city have been included in the World Cultural Heritage list, including the Great Wall, the Imperial Palace, the Thirteen Mausoleums, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian.

Experts have suggested a ticket rise to control the number of visitors and better protect these sites.
