Travel Agencies Face New Regulations

New regulations issued by Beijing's Tourist Administration specify that travel agencies should provide contracts with tourists to specify schedules, service items, standard charges, shopping programs and other items on the agenda before extra fees are levied.

According to the new regulations, if agencies misguide their clients by placing extra items on the itinerary or requesting more money, they could be fined between 1000 to 30,000 yuan, or in more serious instances, have their licenses revoked.
