The Chinese Embassy in Russia has warned Chinese citizens traveling to the country to take extra care over personal security.

The warning follows a recent rise in attacks and robberies against Chinese tourists, partly due to the coming festive season.

Chinese officials have called on the relevant Russian departments to take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese travelers.
