Shanghai: Thefts Up at End of Last Month

The Shanghai Public Security Bureau announced yesterday there were 2,546 theft reports during the last 10 days of December, a rise of 14.7 percent compared with the second 10-day period last month.

 

Authorities said a total of 139 traffic accidents occurred in the city during the last 10 days of the month, up 17.8 percent from the second 10-day period, resulting in 37 deaths, 102 injuries and 1.11 million yuan (US$133,735) in economic losses.
