Geology Park to Be Built in Three Gorges

The Hubei Daily reports a National Geology Park is to be built in Three Gorges area of the Yangtze River.

An official from the Ministry of Land and Resources says experts approved the construction plan for the first two park areas in Central China's Hubei province.

Drastic movements in the earth's outer crust - or lithosphere - under the Three Gorges site has given birth to various huge geological sites, which are of great value.

The planned park will stretch across Hubei and southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

The part is due to open this year.
