Ancient town in Shanghai to be renovated

A 1,000-year-old town will be renovated, according to the Shanghai Urban Planning Administrative Bureau.

 

Fengjing Town is in rural Jinshan District and the bureau has endorsed a plan to develop the 6.6-square-kilometer town into a new residential area with its economy to be based on the garment industry. Hundreds of residential buildings built during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties will be renovated.
