Nation's First Public Golf Course
A public golf course opened in Longgang District on Sunday, reports Southern Metropolis News.

For just 150 yuan (US$18.10), members of the public can play the noble sport, or they can pay 280 yuan (US$30.10) to play on public holidays.

It is, so far, the first public course operating in China and mainly attracts local low-income residents and workers from outside the city.

The course, which was funded by the Longgang district government, cost more than 20 million yuan (US$2.41 million).

Construction of the project took more than three years.
