Beautiful Illusions in Shanghai
Have you heard of the magic musical? It is simply a marriage between magic and the musical. If you are curious about this new artistic genre, you have the chance to savor it by going to see the Singaporean production, "Magic of Love", at the Majestic Theater.

This production proclaims itself to be Singapore's first magic musical ever with an eminent cast.

The show mingles illusions with music by weaving them into an interesting storyline.

The backdrop of the story is the enchanting era of 1930s Shanghai. It centers around a heart-warming tale of how a father and daughter, both noted magicians, are bonded together by their love of magic.

In the story, the father and the daughter attain fame through their wonderful performances soon after arriving in Shanghai. Their fame and fortune incites the jealousy of the owner of the cabaret.

The father and daughter are so busy they have little time to communicate with each other. The owner makes full use of this to alienate them from each other. Then he kidnaps the daughter and demands that she tell him the secret of their magic, or he will kill her father.

In the end, however, true love defeats evil.

Renowned magicians Lawrence Khong and his daughter Priscilla are cast as the father and daughter of the story. The fictional pair is even named after the real magicians.
