Snow Blankets Northeast Chinese City
The first snow of this year has blanketed Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, turning it into a large skating rink.

The Taoxian International Airport, the largest air traffic hub in northeast China, reopened this morning after closing for more than 20 hours. Nearly 60 flights in and out of Shenyang have been called off, affecting over 6,000 passengers.

The snow also caused slow traffic in urban districts. Buses were more crowded than ever because a great number of bicycle drivers turned to motor vehicles for fear of falling down on slippery road.

A taxi driver said, "We don't worry about lacking passengers. But, it takes longer time for each journey because slippery roads."

Local hospitals received great number of patients suffering from bone fracture. Doctors advise senior people to walk in streetwith the help of others.
