Treasured Heritage

A large-scale exhibition of 72 antique Chinese painting and calligraphy works is on display in the Shanghai Museum. The works are dated between the Jin and Yuan dynasties (AD 265-1368), an important period when Chinese art took shape and flourished.

Yuan Hongbin holds a solo exhibition in the Exhibition Hall of the Super Brand Mall until January 10. Yuan is famous for his use of coloured cotton fibres to create paintings. A total of 168 paintings are on show.

Feminine petals

Sex is hidden somewhere on the canvas of Peng Mingliang. The artist's brush explores feminine beauty interwoven with sexual desire. Overlapping petal shapes are his favourite form. Residing in a villa in Songjiang District, Peng keeps a low-profile in local art circles.
