Pick up: 8:30 am at Lido outside Starbucks or 9 am at Capital Paradise (front gate)

Return: 4:30 pm

Where: Changping District and Huairou County, north of Beijing

Driving time: two hours

Walking time: three hours

The route: This is an A to B hike. You will probably be amazed to find this trail. No one would believe such a place existed in Beijing - the place that becomes dry and arid in the winter.

Beijing's seasons are dramatic, magical and exciting. The summer can be so lush here. There are big bushes of lilac, fuchsias, wild pear blossom and fresh air.

Of course this hike is not going to provide you with all of this. Instead you will get some fallen leaves on the path, a blue sky and a good view.
