HK MTR Arson Suspect Arrested

A 55-year-old man suspected to be connected with an arson attack in Hong Kong's MTR train Monday morning was arrested late Monday night, according to government sources here Tuesday.

 

The arson attack, occurred at 9:14 a.m. Monday in the first compartment of a Central-bound train, left 14 people injured.

 

The man sustaining burnt injuries was apprehended at the Accident and Emergency Department of Tuen Mun Hospital at about 11:00 p.m. Monday.

 

The sources said the man is still being detained by the Regional Crime Unit of Hong Kong Island for enquiries.
