Flight Check-in Mooted in Shenzhen

A top adviser suggested that Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport set up check-in counters in the city.

Downtown check-in counters would make it convenient for passengers and ease airport traffic by reducing the number of people seeing off friends or relatives, said Wang Guoqing, a member of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC.

Wang suggested the airport start by establishing a check-in counter at the airport lounge of the Hualian Building in Futian. If a check-in counter was set up in the lounge, passengers could obtain boarding passes with air tickets and also check in their luggage.

Some big cities overseas, such as Tokyo, had set up downtown check-in counters, said Wang.

People can now obtain boarding passes only at the airport.
