The prices for domestic package holidays will rise between 40 to 50 percent during the upcoming May Day holiday.

At the same time, holidays overseas are expected to be cheaper than during the Spring Festival.

A 12-day holiday to Australia for example will be about 2,000 yuan cheaper at 19,000 yuan or about US$2,300.

The most popular domestic travel destinations at the moment are natural beauty spots.
