Five Star Hotels in Beijing Reduce Golden Week Price

Peak travel times in China are at the best of times crowded and expensive, but during this year's national May Day Holiday there will be some relief for weary travelers.

In Beijing, some five star hotels will reduce prices during the coming golden week in anticipation of more business and happier customers.

Hotels like the China World Hotel, Kerry Center Hotel and Shangri-la will offer a sixty percent discount from April 30th to May 9th and extend the check out time.

Insiders say the move is expected to enable more visitors to enjoy the best service from top grade hotels.

So far, 80 percent of the star-rated hotels in the city have been booked in advance.

Additionally, the local travel bureau is bracing for crack down on illegal tour businesses during one of the country's busiest travel seasons.
