Forbidden City Collecting New Emblem Designs

The Forbidden City has started to collect proposed designs for its new emblem to celebrate its 80th anniversary next year.

Five designs will be short listed and put on the Forbidden City's website for public comments and opinions, before the final decision is made by a panel of experts.

The creator of the winning design will be awarded 80,000 yuan, or about US$9,600.

The deadline for submissions is September 30.
