Delegations from all over the country are beginning to arrive in Beijing for the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Ethnic minorities make up over a tenth of the CPC delegates. The Tibetans were the first to arrive.

One Tibetan delegate, said, "As a CPC member from the remote border region, I feel very excited that I can take part in the upcoming National Congress. I'll always take people's expectations to heart, and express my opinions and suggestions on the great project of Party building."

Another Tibetan delegate, said, "I am a grass-roots teacher. I've come to tell the government and all Chinese people that Tibet has changed a lot, and to ask for new ideas."

Guizhou delegate, said, "I'm from the Dong ethnic group. I hope the central government will pay more attention to the Western Region and Guizhou, as well as to ethnic minority education."

The CPC delegates represent all sectors of society, such as economy, education and science. They are bringing suggestions and concerns from other party members back home.

Delegate said, "I've gone to the rural areas, listened to their opinions, and administrated the implementation of the countryside policy."

Delegate said, "I'm from aviation industry. We are making China's civil aircraft. We hope we can live up to everyone's expectations, and build a prosperous national aviation industry."

Other delegates are expected to arrive over the weekend. The Congress opens on Monday and will review the Party's work over the last five years. It's expected to develop strategies for the overall advancement of China's opening-up reforms and its drive towards socialist modernization.
