Study of 'Three Represents' Thought Important: Official

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, Friday stressed the importance of further study of the important thought of "Three Represents."

It is a long-term strategic task to educate all CPC members with the important thought of "Three Represents," Li said at a meeting on the campaign, urging the combination of theory and practice.

Last year all localities across China made remarkable progress in studying the "Three Represents", which became a fundamental guideline for all work of CPC and the country, he said.

It is important for cadres above county level to become models in continued and in-depth study of the "Three Represents" thought, and colorful ways should be created for the people's study of "Three Represents," he said.

Party members should make efforts to solve the emerging problems and conflicts in reform and development, as well as problems and difficulties in ordinary people's lives, he said.

Li spoke highly of the supervisory work over the nationwide study of the "Three Represents." At the meeting, 12 supervisory teams, sent by the CPC Central Committee, briefed on the study progress in 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities as well as 18 departments directly under the Central Government.
