Fire crews are struggling to contain a bushfire at a national park in Western Australia's southwest, authorities said on Monday.
The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) said the bushfire had burnt around 50 hectares at Fish Creek in D' Entrecasteaux National Park in the South West region of Western Australia, about 315 kilometers south of Perth.
Incident controller John Gillard said fire containment was proving difficult because the bushfire was surrounded by sand dunes and wetlands.
"It has been a challenge to get heavy earth moving machinery in there but we have managed to get 12 trucks and two dozers in to assist ground crews," he said.
The DEC also has two fixed wing water bombers on standby and a helicopter to assist with control efforts.
Gillard said variable winds were forecast for Monday, making conditions unpredictable.
